Until now friendship is a feeling but once I started studying it I am beginning to see multitudes of properties in this ‘feeling’ called friendship.
Guess it will be a good idea ...
It is actually worth including it as a proper science lesson in class VII or VIII cause that is when we begin to teach science as physics, chemistry and biology.
To observe that friendship is a fantastic combination of all these streams of science is a new topic that can be considered when we update our curriculum next time.
On the flipside
A physical study of a subject makes it imperative that it should have a shape, size or a form. Friendship, I observe has all this.
If biology is the study of life sciences and the behaviour of living things, friendship should certainly be added into it. After all, friendship determines the behaviour of living things.
Chemistry- is the study of elements and compounds and the following reactions when they come together!
If we are to assume an individual as an element, friendship is the chemical that compounds two individuals and the ensuing reactions are worth studying under different chemical combinations.
To begin our study on the properties of friendship we can start with proven features like:
It has elasticity
• Stretch to keep 2 or 2000 people together.
• Bind a 1 year old child to 100 year old person and also people who have never met: eg.. fellow travellers, waiting patients etc.,
• Can bind unknown sources together. For eg..chat friends.
It has chemical reactions
• Left on its own-it does not have any actions or reactions but once its combined with two or more people the range of emotional and physical reactions are uncountable.
• It has such chemical potencies that it can make or break any human relationships.
It has physical reactions
It can change ‘form’ of relationships like parents & children, teachers & students, employers & employees can turn into friends.
Friendship cannot be seen in physical form but may be assumed in physical gestures like, shaking hands, hugging, patting, smiling, enthusiastic body language etc.
Friendship can give the most supportive feelings that can make the receiver revive with new energy. The former can be only be perceived and the latter can be visibly seen.
It has emotional reactions
Its odourless and colourless but makes the owner feel the most vibrant colours and fragrances
It acts as a conductor and catalyst for many relationships amongst living things. For eg. bondings between people and pets or plants.
To conclude, Friendship : In science it is like oxygen, in poetry it is like spring in summer, in politics it is like the nuclear alignment, in math it is a great equation and in life it is the spirit.
