Adults...have you heard of anything called Public Behaviour?

Adults go to Salsa classes, cookery, personality development and also Organizational Behaviour, but what about ‘Personal and Public Behaviour’?

Adults play multi roles: As parents, as grandparents, as neighbours, as young adults who just started to earn, adults who are newly married, adults as drivers, adults as customers at restaurants, adults as movie-goers, adults as professionals, adults as travellers etc etc etc.,

Some case studies on adults during their public behaviour.

1. Adults as customers at restaurants:
Walk in with ‘air’ to get everybody’s attention.
Settle at the reserved table with enough noise.
Disobeying the restaurant’s displayed board..plz silence your cell phones.
Even if the cells are silenced, what about the loud voices? They get louder with each passing moment.
God forbid if it is a group!
a. If its a family, announcements to the waiter on each one’s order. All pampering and display of love to the children is in full exhibition. They expect the rest of the people to enjoy the rude antics of their children. They don’t stop the children from running, jumping, fighting or crying. And their conversation on their last trip to some holiday spot or a movie is for all to hear. Loud and crude jokes and an occasional shout at children. Well some men turn into ‘he man’ by shouting at the waiter or asking for the manager or asking for exchange of the dish they asked for. Women with all their loud narrations and allegiant laughter at their men’s jokes, is simply appalling! I wonder if their homes are as loud as they make the restaurants.
Gross disrespect for others’ right to calmness!

b. If it is a group of young adults who are probably employed and earning well. They must be celebrating a birthday or an appointment or a resignation. Their loud conversations are for the entire restaurant. The pranks they play on each other and the pulling they do consistently, is for everyone to hear, whether you like it or not. Criticisms about their bosses and the drawbacks of their colleagues, you can hear it all. They simply believe that they are the only people sitting in the restaurant.
Qualified they may be, quality of their behaviour? Questionable!

c. If it is a group of friends who are joining for a Sunday lunch, God save those who have chosen to be in the same dining space. As each couple walk in, the joyful hi and hugs are only the beginners of the noon show. The loud narration of their jaunts to some foreign countries and their indulgence as shoppers is for all to hear. How crass and classless in spite of their clothes and class they try to show! Their cell phones may be silent but their squeaking voices, they don’t bother to lower them.
Rich they may be, class? Questionable!

The series on case studies on public behaviour of adults,
To Be Continued!

Episode punch:
We were having a quiet dinner at the club when these ‘adults’ walked in. A couple and a seemingly yes boss character with them. Well the body language of the ‘babu’ and the air of his wife was too obvious ! And the yes boss character is pleasing them with a dinner. The ‘Babu’ behaved like a Britisher when he walked in but his Indian mind made him talk with each passing moment and I knew how many people he transferred, how many were sent on deputations and how he nullified all such elements that wanted to transfer him.
By the end of our dinner, I was wiser with the knowledge of ‘babu transfers’.

hey buddy, I remember how you watch people when we are out for our lunches and dinners. never thought that you could write your observations so well. You remember that group because of whom we left the restaurant and walked into another? I wish there will be some rules about the decibels of talking in public places.

Dear Ma'am and respectable reader.

There are many ways we can look at this issue. The way I see it is that deep down as human being we seek approval and seek attention. And this is classic display of that. Each person is made up of three alter ego states i.e. Parent, Adult and Child. And here we can just see them as being an ignorant child. And you can also see the “Nouveau riche” factor in play.

Aditya

"DISOBEYING" is the latest trend.people gathering in groups at retaurants,& other public places successfully manage to disturb and get attention from others. They say "Listening is an art",I say "Observing is also an art".
If people at public places are a little sensible enough to notice the inconvenience being caused ,then it would definetly be followed by a PROPER public behaviour, because no one would like to score a negative point in their"IMPRESSION MANAGEMENT".
The most common sight"EMOTIONAL EXPRESSIVENESS",its the extent to which persons express all their feelings in the public, especially parents tend to shower all their love &affection out there.
MOTTO:to act as the"THE BEST PARENTS".
The intimate relation all of a sudden tends to get all the more intimate, who forget to notice children around.
why don't people realize, public places are for healthy recreation for all.and those who are unaware of it should study
"THE FINE ART OF SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR".

Sita your case studies on adult public behavior was authentic- especially during birthday parties get together, and not to miss the kitty party crowds in lunch time, it’s appalling.
You are doing a wonderful job, An eye opener for social behavior in adults. Imagine the generations to come if we don’t put a stop to this. It would be great if you can write on behavior of people using public transport also, especially in the flights and trains

Brilliant Job my friend—You are a trendsetter!

ITS NICE TO SEE UR BLOG MA'AM.THE WAY IN WHICH U WANTED 2 EDUCATE THE PEOPLE WAS SUMPTUOUS.
BUT ON THE WHOLE I DON'T AGREE WID SOME OF UR IDEOLOGIES.
COMING 2 THE POINT OF SSC AND CBSE,BOTH OF THEM INCULCATE THE SAME.BUT WAT MATTERS IS THT , THE METHODOLOGY OF TEACHING.
ACCORDING TO ME, WEN I HAD REFFERED TO SOME OF THE CBSE JOURNALS OR THE TEXT BOOKS,BOTH WE AVD THEY HAD THE SAME.MOREOVER,IN SOME OF THE TOPICS WE HAD MUCH INFO COMPARED TO THEM.
TO ELUCIDATE MORE VIVIDLY,WE R THE SAME.
IN SSC BOARD OF TEACHING, PRACTICAL APPROACH IS ELUDED BY MOST OF THE SO CALLED SKOOLS.
I ACCEPT THT CBSE STANDARD IS GUD AND ITS TRUE THT IN IIT XAMS SSC STUDENTS R ELUSIVE BUT NOT NILL.
WATEVER,IT MAY BE, I'M GLAD THT OUR SKOOL IS NOT LIKE THT AND HOPE IT WON'T TOO.
I WISH U COME UP WID A FEW MORE BLOGS AND KEEP EDUCATING THE PEOPLE AT UR BEST.
